We are conducting workshops which will run concurrently with the conference. Our workshop will consist of two parts.
ACLS refresher course:
ACLS is geared towards healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies or personnel in emergency response. The formal course is available as blended learning and classroom training and is valid for two years. Our refresher workshop is aimed at post graduates and consultants irrespective of formal training in ACLS to give a practical demonstration of what ACLS is all about with varied case scenarios, interactive mannequins and team activities.
From its traditional assessment of pleural effusions and masses, lung ultrasound has moved towards the revolutionary approach of imaging the pulmonary parenchyma, mainly as a point-of-care technique. Although limited by the presence of air, LUS has proves to be useful in the evaluation of many different acute and chronic conditions, such as cardiogenic pulmonary edema, acute lung injury, pneumothorax, pneumonia, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary infarctions and contusions. Our workshop aims to impart basic training to use ultrasound at the bedside to identify common conditions encountered in day-to-day practice.
